Important Note About Chestnut Mushrooms
Chestnut mushrooms are not the best first-time grower variety.
They can take longer to fruit than oyster mushrooms and Lion’s Mane, and they are more sensitive to humidity and fresh air exchange. If you are brand new to growing mushrooms, we typically recommend starting with oysters or Lion’s Mane first.
If you want a more rewarding “level up” grow, chestnuts are absolutely worth the wait.

How to Fruit Your Block (3 Steps)
1. Open
Cut the top of the bag, leaving a couple inches of plastic above the block.
2. Mist
Mist 3–6 sprays twice per day.
If using tap water, let it sit out overnight so chlorine can off-gas.
3. Grow and Harvest
Chestnut mushrooms may take longer to pin than oysters or Lion’s Mane. Once pins form, they will develop into full clusters.

Growing Tips for Best Results
Keep the surface moist, not soaked
Indirect light is ideal
Room temperature works well
Use a plate or tray to protect surfaces
If your home is dry, loosely tent the block with a bag to hold humidity
Fresh air exchange is important for healthy growth
⸻
When to Harvest
Harvest when caps are fully formed and still slightly curled under, before they flatten out. Twist clusters off gently.
For another flush, flip the block, cut a fresh slit, and repeat. If the block feels dry, soak for 1–2 hours before restarting.

Our Promise
If your block doesn’t fruit, we will replace it and personally help you troubleshoot so you succeed.
Bring wonder back to the table and grow something unforgettable at home.
